Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

We are recruiting for a dedicated and well experienced General Manager/ Estate Manager to provide my client with leadership in all areas of Estate Management. You will be in charge of all staff at the development and responsible for the day-to-day management. You will also be in charge of controlling expenditure, ensuring yourself and all staff provide superior levels of customer service and plan to maximise revenues.

What will I do as the new General Manager / Estate Manager?

The new General Manager / Estate Manager will be responsible for managing budgets and expenditure for the development, as well as being responsible for subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets and results measurements. You will be the first point of contact for all resident queries as and when required, and having ongoing reports and communication with the Managing Agent will be required.

A massive role within this job is looking after the staff - You will be doing this by; ensuring they carry out their duties, regular meetings with the staff which will include staff appraisals, personal development plans, setting daily tasks, maintaining records of all hours and overtime hours they have worked and dealing with sickness and holiday pay. You’ll be working closely with the Managing Agent by keeping them informed of events and issues that go on within the development, and provide written reports of the building on a weekly basis for the Managing Agent.

The General Manager / Estate Manager will also be dealing with the administrative matters such as; management of the building and staff, responsible for the funds received and petty cash held, documenting all incomes and expenditures which will be accompanied by detailed receipts. Within the health and safety aspect of the development, you will be making sure all incidents or accidents are logged accordingly, maintenance of log books, ensure CCTV cameras are monitored and to ensure development has tight security measures.

Am I the right person for this General Manager/ Estate Manager?

The new General Manager/ Estate Manager must have relevant IRPM qualifications, and some experience in project management. Must have knowledge in Landlord and Tenant Act, RICS and ARMA guidelines, regulations and procedures, able to compose complex reports, experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Also have working knowledge in building maintenance systems, health and safety requirements legislation.

You will need to be able to work in a high demanding team environment who respects and understands others. Someone with a great work ethic, strength of character and has a positive spreading attitude.
