We have a 120 cover restaurant in a busy garden centre, serving mainly traditional English food. Most meals are freshly cooked to order and we also bake many of our own cakes. The restaurant is open daily from 9.30 to 4.30pm including weekends and bank holidays, but is never open in the evenings.
We need a cook and supervisor to work 35-40 hours a week to include alternate weekends and bank holidays.
Duties include cooking and preparing meals, supervising junior staff in the absence of the manager, ordering food stocks in conjunction with the manager, cashing up when required, opening and closing of the restaurant in the absence of the manager and other general duties normally associated with the successful running of a restaurant.
The successful applicant will have at least 2 years experience in the catering industry and preferably although not necessarily some supervisory experience.
Normal working hours would be 8.30am to 4.30pm when working Mon-Sat and 9.30am-4.30pm when working on a Sunday. Some flexibility on those hours is possible. The successful applicant will be working alternate weekends to the manager, and taking days off in the week when working weekends.
