We are excited to be working with an independent garden centre that is looking for a department manager to join their team.
About our Client
We are working with an independent, family-run business that has been established for nearly 40 years. Over time, they have built a successful business, with a dedicated focus on the environment and sustainability. They are now looking for a department manager who can support in delivering KPIs and quality customer service, whilst also undertaking a project looking into sustainability.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales forward, encouraging and providing excellent customer service. With a particular focus on the outdoor plant area, you will oversee the buying of stock, merchandising, and the development of your team. You will ensure the team and department are achieving KPIs. You will also investigate sustainability within the business, which will include looking into recyclable products, peat-reduction, and utilising energy usage.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have worked within a Garden Centre environment before, and have strong horticulture knowledge, being able to support and influence customers and the team around you. You will be a strong and positive communicator and be confident in leading large teams. There will be a genuine interest in sustainability, with a passion to drive the agenda forward and communicate activities and initiatives throughout the business.
