FUNCTIONAL SKILLS TRAINER (Midlands based with national travel)

As a member of the ESL Training Team, the focus will be with delivering English, maths and ICT Functional Skills to groups of Apprentices across multiple sites. The Apprentices will be on Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships and are most likely to need L1 and L2 functional skills support.

This is a role where perseverance is a key skill - every Apprentice counts and ESL are committed to doing everything possible to ensure they complete their Apprenticeship Programme. This is not a role for the faint-hearted! It is a fast moving role, where change often occurs and we have to adapt our training and delivery to keep up to date with the ever changing demands of a Government Funded programme. Apprentices are a demanding bunch - and they all have their own challenges. The key to being successful in this role is planning and communication together with creative solutions for teaching and learning. KPI's are used across the board to determine whether strategies are working, so you will need to understand your own achievements. As you will be an ambassador for ESL with exposure to many employers and sites, it is important that you are able to be positive and professional at all times. There is a great open support infrastructure available for informal or formal discussions and new ways of doing things better are always welcomed.
