Full Time Support Worker - Edgware

Posted 6 April by Mencap Ended

Do you want to make a positive difference to people's lives?

We are looking to expand our team of dedicated Support Worker's to join our dedicated team of support staff in Edgware where we currently support 9 adults who have a learning disability. We have 3 full time roles available for the right candidates.

The individuals we support live in their own flats but will require support with personal care, medication, finances and daily living tasks- although they like to be as independent as possible. Another big part of being a support worker is being a big part of the fun! You could expect to be involved in redecorating a home, shopping, attending the community club or watching a Chelsea game.

As a support worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts throughout the week and weekend, including mornings, afternoons and evenings. You will also be required to work some Sleep in shifts (Payment for sleep ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements). We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance

One of the most amazing things about being a support worker is that anyone can do it as long as you have a positive mind-set with a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability. You will need to be quick thinking with a positive can do attitude.
In return for your hard work we will support you through our award winning training to help you progress in your career with us!

The people we support have created profiles about what they want from their support worker, please have a look at this on the additional details tab. This will give you a better understanding of the role requirements.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!

An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
