There is a brand new requirement for a Front-End Developer to join a national charitable organisation in central Swindon, the company is going through some really captivating changes for its digital space and need someone to tackle their newly implemented CMS system. You will build and maintain the user interfaces to appeal to more and more audience members in order to gain additional customers which will really benefit England’s countryside.
What skills you'll be needing
- jQuery is a must, but other frameworks such as RequireJS or React are very desirable.
- A good understanding of pre-processors, in particular Sass OR Less.
- Knowledge of mobile first and responsive design principles.
- Ability to work in an agile environment.
- Design tools such as Adobe Photoshop are beneficial.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous experience as a web developer.
What you'll be doing
You will be taking a big part in the Front-End space from design layout, to managing media and creating seamless interfaces. As you will be covering a wide range of responsibilities on the website it is expected that you also ensure the website meets mobile first, responsive design principles. Working closely with designers and Back-End developers to avoid breakdowns in moving from design to implementation. Being a key developer in the team you will have to create impeccable code to minimise bug issues/fixing and to create a solid code-base for other developers to work around. It is expected that you contribute to planning and come up with innovative ideas to improve efficiency of the work flow during projects. Working with product owners you will have to be part of a team and not just an individual superstar, share ideas and put them into practice.
