Freight Forwarder

Our market leading client is a specialised global supplier of freight and logistics services to the Events and Exhibitions industry.

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic multi modal forwarder to join the Fairs and Exhibitions team based in London. Knowledge of domestic transport is a must, general knowledge in both air and ocean freight would be a benefit. Experience within the events sector would also assist.

Customer service and strong client relationships are key elements of our operation and industry and the candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

The role will require the candidate to work within the London office and project manage the overall operations on domestic events and exhibitions.

Job Title: Freight Forwarder - Exhibition Coordinator

Freight Forwarder - Exhibition Coordinator - Job Description:

  • Manage logistics requirements by UK transport, Air and sea freight on import / export freight movements.
  • Create and Manage "Show Freight" manifests / schedules
  • Liaison with the company's transport network, warehouse and on site handling crew.
  • Arrange necessary paperwork for client shipments (Shipping Invoices, ATA Carnets, T1 / T2 Documents, DG Certification, Bills of Lading, Airwaybill Instructions, CMR Documents).
  • Manage the event from initial client enquiry / RFQ through the complete job to invoicing and post event wrap up meetings with clients
  • Manage day to day administration as well as providing support to colleagues working away from the office as part of a team.
  • Work to strict deadlines
  • Provide first class customer service at all times
  • Maintain and develop relationships with clients old and new
  • Weekend and evening work will be required to cover our Show Schedule

Freight Forwarder - Exhibition Coordinator - Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in freight forwarding, preferably in an events, fine arts or projects related industry is preferable but not essential.
  • Dedication and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in face to face situations
  • Accurate and organised approach to work with good time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to work under pressure, both individually and as part of a team
  • European language skills would be an advantage but not a requirement
  • Driving licence.
