Freedom of Information Officer

Our client, a well known and successful organisation are looking to recruit a Freedom of Information Co-coordinator.

This role is a 1 month contract, is paying £12.38 per hour and is based in Middlesex.

The purpose of this position is to take responsibility for a variety of activities to support organisations and professionals. The role Includes providing Receiving, logging, collating and responding to Freedom of Information Requests which have a legal element and the need to be able to understand and interpreted.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work as part of a small team, collating and drafting Freedom of Information request (Freedom of Information Act 2000) responses, keeping logs and working with departments to ensure that information is produced on time for authorisation and disclose to requestors.
- Liaising with external colleagues in forum situations and where combined feedback of information is required, taking a lead on generating this information.
- An Ability to talk with the public and patients requesting information, to guide them in making a request and explaining information provided to them if queries are raised.
- To provide routine advice and assistance to requesters or their representatives seeking access to their personal information.
- To provide guidance, advice and persuade managers in relation to the provision of information. The ability to gently remind and persuade senior management to respond within statutory timescales is important.

Skills Required:

- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
- Project management skills.
- Strong IT skills, including use of databases, Microsoft Office and online tools.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Proven ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
- Negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Ability to cope with periods of high workload.
