FP&A Analyst - 14 months FTC

My client is looking an FP&A Analyst to cover for maternity on a 14 months FTC. This role is a really exciting position for someone to get their foot in the door of a truly global business.

The role primarily exists to:

  • Deliver reporting and insightful performance analysis to Group management of actual performance, Budget, forecasts and three year plan processes
  • Work with senior management co-ordinating processes and challenging business performance
  • Review investment business cases for alignment with the Group’s strategic and commercial objectives, returns hurdle rates and quality standards

In addition, the role has specific responsibility for leading the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reporting process, which is externally published, working in strong collaboration with financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Business partner

  • Review and challenge submissions during the Monthly and Forecast reporting cycles and support Divisional management to continuously enhance the quality of reporting. Log and follow up on issued identified.
  • Review and challenge annual Budget and Three Year Plan submissions and support Divisional management to continuously enhance the quality of planning

- Expected output: insightful divisional and functional plans raising the key topics for consideration and discussions

- Ensure Three Year Plan aligned with USA submissions

  • Support integrated forecasting development (both income statement and cashflow) including implementation of a forecasting tool to provide external and internal stakeholders (including the Board) with concise accurate relevant information on a timelier basis, to facilitate more effective external communication and to improve decision making and control.

Corporate Social Responsibility

  • Lead the annual CSR Reporting cycle

- Lead the design, planning and delivery of the process;

- This includes leading the data collection process with the support of the CSR analyst, issuing instructions to the Divisions and Businesses and holding follow up calls, ensuring account definitions are clear, issuing reporting packs and updating the environmental conversion factors in cooperation with the energy team

- Ensure the TM1 CSR application is fit for purpose and is reflecting any new reporting development, issue up to date system instructions

- Review and challenge business submissions to ensure data accuracy and prepare analysis pack

- Manage the external assurance process and relationship

- Work in collaboration with CSR and Communications teams to

i.) deliver the externally published CSR Report to highest quality

ii.) further develop the report to meet stakeholder expectations, e.g. alignment with latest reporting standards

Provide regular status updates to Global FP&A VP and CFO

SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED

  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior business management
  • A resilient individual with excellent communication skills with the confidence to influence at multiple levels across the organisation including financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to plan effectively to deliver multiple projects to tight deadlines and adapt to changes with pace and agility
  • Strong analytical capability and demonstrable attention to detail and focus on quality of output
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g. modelling, look-ups, pivots)
  • Demonstrable experience in managing, coaching and developing people

EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified accountant with strong post-qualification experience
  • A track record of developing and maintaining relationships with senior management within a complex organisation
  • Previous FP&A or reporting experience including experience of driving improvement in reporting, forecasting cycles
  • A track record of working within a complex organisation and developing and maintaining relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Demonstrable commercial aptitude
  • In addition, the following would be desirable

    • European language skills
    • Relevant industry experience
    • Experience of consolidation/financial reporting systems - e.g. Hyperion, Cognos Controller, Cognos TM1
