You will be working closely with 2 Deputy Team Managers to manage a team of social workers in the recruitment, support and supervision of foster carers, kinship carers and Special Guardians to ensure safe and resilient placements for Children. You will lead on developing the services we offer to our families, providing mentorship, guidance and support. You will work closely with managers and teams across the service, further improving our ability to sustain stability of placements and drive improvement in permanence care planning for children. In addition to the supervision of the team you will be involved in chairing and recording meetings including strategic planning and ensuring the service develops in accordance with the wider ethos of Milton Keynes Corporate Parenting strategy. For an informal discussion contact Nicola Sankey on or by email .ukKey Duties To lead our MK Fostering Service and ensure that services are delivered in line with legal requirements of the Fostering Services Regulations as the Fostering Registered Manager To support the management of the Fostering Panel and assist with the professional advice to Members and the Agency Decision Maker To lead and manage the recruitment, retention, training and assessment of prospective foster carers To be responsible for the Fostering Service complying with regulatory responsibilities as set out by OFSTED and to prepare and participate in inspections as needed To manage the team budget and ensure resources are effectively utilised to ensure good outcomes for children with a focus on placement sufficiency To lead and facilitate partnership working with key agencies, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children. To ensure good standards and quality assurance mechanisms within the Fostering Service To utilise and bring analysis from a variety of sources to underpin creative short and long term solutions for our corporate children and carers to ensure positive placement arrangements. Managing allegations and safeguardingExperience, Qualifications and any Mandatory Requirements Experience and knowledge of the needs of Children Looked After and Fostering service.
