Forecasting and Budgeting Manager

General Objective:

Full responsibility for the forecasting and budgeting process within the finance team.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Quarterly Forecasting : Managing the quarterly forecasting process, including :
o Setting timetable and ensuring everyone involved in the process is aware what is required of them.
o Preparing models and updating formats, being the owner of the forecasting tool
o Supporting and training of stakeholders if required.
o Ensuring deadlines are met
o Critically challenge the stakeholders for their input, ensure the data is complete and that comments are relevant.
o Review and analyse outputs, highlighting to relevant Division Head and Directors
o Lead the challenge meeting and highlight the risks
o Loading back into Oracle and checking P&L plan

• New Forecasting Tool

o Be a superuser and a point of contact for both finance and non finance stakeholders
o Propose and implement improvements/changes where necessary
o Building new models for further phases of the implementation
o Responsible for the training of users.

• Labour and Overhead Rate Calculations

o Recalculate annually and liaise with auditors where necessary for audit approval.
o Simplify method for overhead rates for EC and Innovate.

• Other

o Ad hoc projects/improvements such as loans model, cash flow forecast, assist with statutory accounts, assist with yearend audits as and when required
o Perform other ad hoc finance activities as requested by management.

Person Specification:

• Fully qualified accountant
• Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Able to influence and work effectively with non-financial managers
• Flexible outlook and able to cope with significant change
