Prospero are working with a School based in Southampton who are seeking an experienced Food and Nutrition Technician likely to start in April 2018. Technicians support teaching and learning within and beyond the classroom and contribute to the progress.

About the Food and Nutrition Technician Position:

**37 Hours per week / 41 weeks per year (term time plus 2 weeks)
**8am - 4pm (includes 30 minute unpaid break)
**To work as a member of a team who focus on building in young people a sense of self belief, self-confidence and pride.
**Contribute to the planning, development and organisation of systems while maintaining procedures and policies.
**All Food Nutrition Technicians must have an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to complete one.

Main duties of the Food and Nutrition Technician:

**Prepare and clear away materials and equipment.
**Assist teaching staff with demonstration lessons and practical's.
**Make arrangements for maintenance and repairs to equipment.
**Assist in the development of lesson plans.
**Promote healthy eating while keeping a fun environment.
**Maintaining stock and breakage records, catalogues and user manuals.
**Ordering, receiving and accounting for new stock and equipment.

The Food and Nutrition Technician will have/be:

**Ability to work in a team and individually.
**Experience of preparing and cooking food.
**Strong written and verbal communication skills to be able to relate well to pupils school and staff.
**Ability to deal with any confrontational situations appropriately.
**Ability to maintain confidentiality in dealings with pupils.
**Capacity to work accurately under pressure and to meet deadlines and effectively organise priorities.
