Fleet Planning Manager

Posted 7 March by Northgate

Northgate are currently going through probably the most exciting time in our business’ history. We’ve opened up a new commercial hub in the centre of Reading and we’re just about to move into our permanent office there. The team in Reading is brimming with some of the most talented people in the area and we’re looking for you to join us as our new Fleet Planning Manager

As our new Fleet Planning Manager you’ll work incredibly closely with our Fleet Director pretty much daily. You’ll be responsible for crunching numbers, understanding our fleet as well as weekly, monthly and annual reporting. You’ll need to get to grips with understanding the surges, peaks and troughs in demand for our services so we can maximise the use of our fleet. You’ll also understand total life costs of different vehicles from different manufacturers so we can understand which vehicles to buy when the time comes. You’ll also be responsible for understanding what vehicles are needed and where in the UK they are needed. You’ll also need to accompany the Fleet Director on manufacturer visits from time to time in order to build and maintain those crucial relationships

In order for you to be successful in this role you’ll first of all need a really strong analytical mind and a reporting ability that’s second to none. You’ll also need rental industry experience too (not necessarily vehicle rental), as well as being great at Microsoft Excel and Access. You’ll also need to have experience of dealing with senior stakeholders on a daily basis

We’re offering a basic salary of up to £50k (DOE) as well as a company car / allowance plus a bonus and an extremely competitive benefits package for the successful candidate, as well as the opportunity to work in an extremely talented team, with direct access to the most senior people in our business, in one of the best locations in Reading.

Northgate are an equal opportunities employer
