Company/Role Overview:

Our client are a well established SME Fine Art Shipper who have a new opportunity available for a Fine Art Technician based at Heathrow (TW14). The successful candidate should be a skilled and detail-oriented Fine Art Technician to join the art logistics team, responsible for the safe handling, packing, transportation, installation, and storage of artworks. This role requires a high level of professionalism, technical ability, discretion, and a strong commitment to best practices in art handling and logistics.

Employment Terms for the Fine Art Technician

  • Mon-Fri 8am-5pm - 40 hr week (flexibility required and paid overtime available)
  • 23 days holiday plus BH
  • £35-40k basic DOE & NEG

Key Responsibilities for the Fine Art Technician

  • Handle, pack, and transport a wide range of artworks including paintings, sculptures, installations, and delicate objects.
  • Assist with and execute on-site art installations and de-installations at galleries, museums, private residences, and fairs.
  • Load and unload artworks safely and efficiently from vehicles, using appropriate lifting and securing techniques.
  • Conduct condition checks and report any discrepancies or damages.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including condition reports, packing lists, and inventory logs.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, conservators, registrars, and couriers during projects.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working condition.
  • Support warehouse operations including artwork intake, inventory management, and storage.
  • Travel domestically and occasionally internationally as required for installations or exhibition setups.

Requirements & Qualifications for the Fine Art Technician

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fine art handling, logistics, or museum/gallery environment.
  • Excellent English communication skills both verbal, written and 'in person’
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in art packing, handling, and installation.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility with working hours and willingness to travel (Central London & Europe)
