Financial Reporting Assistant

  • Assist in the production of accurate and timely divisional financial reporting including:
    • Monthly trial balances via Dynamics 365 and Sage
    • Periodic financial reporting
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assistance with the production of financial budgets and forecasts
  • Point of contact for Towergate Group Financial and Accounting team queries and reporting
  • Assisting the Financial Operations team as required
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Reviewing and authorising payments using online banking systems
  • Production of financial data to support the production of local HMRC tax returns including P11D returns
  • Ad-hoc duties as required

Essential :

  • Part qualified or studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by experience
  • Experience of working in a financial reporting environment
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines to ensure monthly reporting deadlines are met
  • Advanced PC Skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Desirable:

  • Practical experience of similar businesses within the Financial Services Sector, with particular reference to General Insurance
  • Experience of the General Insurance intermediary markets
  • Experience of Dynamics 365 and/or Sage 500 reporting systems
