Reporting into the Manager Business Unit Control, you will support our Visual Instruments Division across EMEAR relating to the provision of financial data to improve profitability control and to plan business activities with more accurate information. In addition you will also act as the liaison between the BU team and other (functional) departments to ensure smooth business processes and effective communication.

This role is based in our offices at Westside, Hemel Hempstead however there will be some travel involved across Germany, Amsterdam & Italy.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting and support

  • Send daily, weekly, monthly sales reports to top management (Vice Presidents, Business Unit Owner (BUO), Seiko Epson Corporation) and all sales and marketing related stakeholders, and provide in depth analytical support on the numbers
  • Develop and produce KPIs to provide insight to the BUOs and drive business performance
  • Provide ad hoc support on financial matters, expertise, interpretation and analysis when required

Analysis and proactive business control

  • Support the BUOs on all aspects of the BU P&L : Allocated SGA analysis, ASP variance analysis to budget/FC
  • Gather monthly commentaries prior to MBR or President VC
  • Commercial Policy control and Sales Minus (stack) follow up
  • Study the impact of special pricing on gross margin, anticipate possible deviation and risks in terms of profitability
  • Collect ESC's background in case of distortion
  • Work closely with the functional Controllers for addressing potential improvements on the cost allocation techniques

Budget and forecast

  • Submit SGA budgets at each cut and ensure timely and accurate input
  • Perform detailed variance analysis on BP/FC progression


  • To ensure that accounting and reporting compliance responsibilities are maintained within the Business Unit


  • Ad hoc finance projects impacting sales areas
  • To act as backup to any of the team members during absences

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a commercial finance or business analysis role focusing on sales/revenue ideally across EMEAR
  • Proven business analysis, review and interpretation of data along with the ability to present findings across a range of audiences
  • Business and commercial minded with experience of working in a time driven role ensuring quality of output
  • First class Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel including V-look ups, pivot tables
  • Experience with SAP in FICO, SD modules highly desirable
  • Ability to set and meet strict deadlines
  • Service orientated with customer focus, stress resistant, innovative and able to resolve issues in an efficient and logical manner
  • Previous experience of IT market and indirect sales model is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including experience of dealing with all levels of management, and different functional departments
  • Master degree in Finance or Economics is desirable but not essential
