Are you looking for a challenging role that not only allows you to take ownership of your workload but will also fit around your schedule, creating the perfect work-life balance?
We are a small financial adviser business offering high quality independent financial advice, and seeking a motivated, part-time assistant.

The work involves all aspects of financial planning administration, including keeping detailed records, preparing illustrations, liaising with providers and complying with regulatory requirements, as well as communicating with clients.

The role would suit someone who can work efficiently and accurately, supporting the company director, working to deadlines, prioritising when necessary and establishing and developing good working relationships with clients and providers.

Plenty of training is available for someone who wants to take exams or progress to be an adviser in their own right; alternatively, an experienced administrator who wants to stick to what they know would be very welcome.

The role will involve:

Project Administration - Seeing each piece of client work through from start to finish, including preparing LoAs, illustrations, preparing, collating, checking and following up documentation, liaising with clients, providers and the adviser.

Reviews - Maintain a review diary and prepare performance information, including benchmarks and charts

Intelligent Office - Keep all records on Intelligent Office up-to-date, including new plans, fees, valuations and populating data.

Technical - Build portfolios on platforms and obtain comparative cost data on fund classes

Ad Hoc - "Office manager" type work

Essential Skills

At least 5 years in financial planning, especially supporting advisers working in investments and pensions. Mortgage experience alone is not useful.

Commitment to excellence and a desire to learn.

Although we are very keen to support long term development, we need someone who can hit the ground running.

Desirable Skills

Certificate in Financial Services / Certificate in Regulated Financial Services Operations or equivalent.
Intelligent Office (or similar back-office system) - good working knowledge.
Experience with a wide range of platforms and providers, preferably including at least two of Aviva, Transact, Old Mutual Wealth and Standard Life.
Excel - able to create spreadsheets.
Excellent ability to communicate with clients, both written and on the phone.

About Company

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA), regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. My practice specialises in pensions (both in the saving and withdrawal phases), inheritance tax mitigation, and long-term budgeting and modelling.

In addition to providing thorough and effective advice, my focus is on making sure my clients feel empowered to use their money in the way that best suits them and to plan for the future with confidence.

The relationship of the financial planner and client is a long-term one; potentially guiding the client from setting up their first pension, right through to Inheritance Tax planning and making provision for future generations.

The administrator has a key part to play in making the client experience both personal and professional.
