Financial Modelling Manager - Energy and Infrastructure

Job Purpose 


The primary purpose of the role is to manage a
team and process to deliver high quality financial modelling, valuation and
training engagements to our clients. Models developed by our team support new infrastructure
finance, management of operational assets, and valuation and transactions for
existing assets. 

Your Role &
Responsibilities  


We are seeking an experienced Manager who is
passionate about financial modelling to join Mazars’ Global Infrastructure
Finance team in our Toronto office on a full-time basis, reporting directly to
directors and partners in infrastructure modelling, valuations and advisory. The role will include:  

Responsibility for delivery of financial modelling and valuation
engagements 


Manage financial modelling and valuation
engagements, from proposals through scoping, development, review and delivery,
working in a supportive and collaborative environment. This will include:   

 - Being the main day to day contact with clients, forming long-standing
relationships which with help drive repeat business

- Financial management of projects, including billing and debt collection,
and reporting on their progress to the Director/Partner; 

- Ensuring the quality of deliverables to meet internal standards and
client requirements, and ensuring that best practice modelling is adhered to at
all times     

- Leading, coaching and reviewing the work of modelling consultants, and
provision of modelling advice and support to wider team members   


Develop
and deliver training in project finance modelling:


- Undertake training in, and then deliver our world-renowned training
courses in project finance modelling, both digitally and in-person. This is an excellent way to share
knowledge, build networks and benefit from the experience of course
participants.

- Help market our services to new and existing clients, including via
social media and thought leadership   

 Developing
and leading a team
, through effective management in assignments, and
mentoring in developing specific skills and capabilities as well as line
management responsibilities for both on shore teams in Toronto and New York, as
well as an offshore team in New Delhi.     

Your Skills, Experience and
Knowledge


Core requirements: 
- 5+
years of experience and expertise related to financial analysis and modelling,
gained while working in infrastructure or similar sector with an institutional
investor, a developer, an investment bank, a professional services firm or a
governmental infrastructure agency. 

- Skilled
in Excel to Developer level as set out in the ICAEW’s Spreadsheet Competency
Framework (-technology/excel/spreadsheet-competency-framework.) with the ability to
develop complex financial models independently. 

- Superior
analytical skills and capacity to provide quality deliverables with an
attention to detail while working under tight deadlines. 

- Strong
interpersonal skills and comfortable presenting to senior client personnel. 

- Previous
experience of managing or supervising junior financial modellers. 

-  Ability
to communicate complicated concepts clearly – to clients, to trainees and to
the team.

Other Desirable
experience:

-
Background
in engineering, mathematics, statistics or data analysis. 

- Specific
experience in infrastructure and energy asset classes, with a strong commercial
understanding of project structuring, documentation and financing.

- Practical
knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting/tax concepts and principals and
experience in implementing complicated accounting structures in financial
models in a well-organized way.

- Fluency
in Spanish or French. 

- Leadership
potential – already demonstrated leadership role in similar organisation. 

- Comfortable
in using social media for building networks and developing business.
