Financial Manager

We are currently seeking a strong financial professional to support our operations team, business unit management and other Interserve parties in relation to our Commercial business offering. The Finance Manager will be responsible for all aspects of operational finances within their business area, and act as financial lead in business development financial management. This role reports to the Head of Finance - Catering.

Responsibilities

  • Overall control of the business area accounting function
  • Assisting with financial planning and related ongoing advice for senior management
  • Formulating budgets in accordance with the strategy determined by the board / SMT
  • Ownership of all financial information and reviewing bid assumptions and costings
  • Develop and implement strategy to reduce operational costs
  • Work with key business stakeholders to ensure services are delivered in accordance with Service
  • Improve and develop internal controls and processes
  • Partnering Agreements and key measures
  • Full financial responsibility for contracts, including mobilisation ensuring financial performance is measured and setting actions plans for deviations to forecasts
  • Business partner to non finance senior managers and operational colleagues

What we are looking for

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent within a financial role
  • Proven track record as Finance Manager of a business unit (or similar role) within complex service industry
  • Previous experience within a Management environment / FM Catering / operational service industry
  • High degree of computer literacy, in particular, advanced Excel business modelling
  • Proven experience of implementing finance systems, processes and procedures
  • A high degree of financial, commercial and customer awareness
  • Highly organised, methodical, attention to detail and ability to work and deliver under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Proactively drive efficiencies and cost saving
  • Ability to thrive in a highly pressurised and driven environment
  • Ability to think ahead, identify new opportunities and create new and innovative approaches to work related issues
  • Previous use of Open Accounts and Saffron is desirable
