The Company

Founded in 2014 in London, Vaping Global has quickly grown into a group of companies encompassing high street retail, distribution, manufacturing and an analytical laboratory. It’s retail brand EVAPO is a multi-channel business hub with 38 retail stores in the UK and an ambitious ongoing store opening programme. We want to shape and professionalize the industry by becoming the leading High Street vaping retail chain in Europe. We are now seeking an experienced Financial Controller to ensure transparency in financial reporting and control of our financial performance.

The Job

This role will involve responsibility for the Company’s management accounts, financial reconciliations, cash-flow analysis and forecasting, and preparation of budgets. Working arrangements can be flexible but this is a full-time role.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing financial statements and management accounts
  • Analyzing and reporting on the Company’s financial position
  • Forecasting future financial performance
  • Ensuring expenditure is in line with agreed budgets
  • Making recommendations for cost containment measures
  • Preparing VAT and Corporation Tax returns and dealing with regulatory/compliance matters
  • Contributing to decisions relating to the Company’s financial strategy.

The Person

This role will suit a qualified accountant with at least 5 years’ commercial experience in a Financial Controller position, ideally gained within a retail environment.

You will need to be a good team player with strong business acumen, excellent numerical and data analysis skills, and exemplary IT skills including Excel at an advanced level.

Proactive, decisive and logical, you will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to multi-task. Highly developed organisational skills, as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines, are a must.

As well as understanding and interpreting the numbers, you will need strong communication skills to present reports and recommendations clearly and persuasively to the management team.
