My client is looking for their next financial controller to report directly into an inspirational Managing Director, who is looking to retire in the coming future. This role also reports into the board members of a larger group, so can give you exciting exposure to the wider company. This role comes about at an exciting time, where the business is looking to go through a period of change, where the Financial Controller will be there to assist the Managing Directors vision taking the company through to their next stage. This will consist of improving processes, modernising the approach the business looks to take upon the market, managing and developing a team of 6 within finance whilst being the number one within finance.

The Role:

-In conjunction with the Managing Director and/or the Main Board develop and review the long- and medium-term plans for the business

-Contribution analysis by customer highlighting below average performance on a rolling 12-month basis.

-Production, and analysis of, departmental performance discussing with relevant departmental director on a monthly basis

-Responsible for preparation of monthly, half-yearly and year-end management account in the required format and to timescales set by group

-Responsible for ensuring that all nominal ledger accounts (namely but not limited to fixed assets, purchase ledger and sales ledger) are reconciled promptly after each period close

-Responsible for the maintenance of the purchase ledger, sales ledger, nominal ledger and fixed asset register

-Preparation of interim and year-end audit packs incorporating accounting policies to include production of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors and taxation consultants

-Control of widespan capex cost collection to ensure accurate reporting and feedback of costing to actual cost variances

-Setting annual budgets
