Watson Evans Associates are working on a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller on behalf of a diverse group of businesses.

Based in West Cornwall, the role is to be offered on a full time, permanent basis along with a competitive benefits package and salary, likely to be between £40,000 and £50,000 dependent on experience and qualifications. A relocating package could be available should the right person be looking to move into the area.

Joining as part of a senior management team reporting into the board, your purpose is to assist them in the strategic management and development of the group. You will work in partnership with colleagues leading each business within the group. Guiding, advising and assisting them to become more streamlined and effective. You will offer detailed information to the board and other management members to include:

  • Periodic and detailed management accounts
  • Cash flow forecasts
  • Preparing and monitoring budgets
  • Consolidating group accounts
  • Project work as required: system renewals and implementations, improvements to processes and financial controls
  • Line management for existing finance team

To succeed in this expanding organisation you will be able to swiftly build lasting relationships with department heads, you will naturally be enthusiastic and engaging, as well as technically and commercially astute. You will mostly likely be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience within a similar position, although those who are practice based would also be considered. Experience of reporting into a board and operating as part of a senior management team would be beneficial.
