Reporting into the MD, Based in London W1, and working for an innovative payment solutions provider.
The business is a subsidiary of an established group headquartered in Hong Kong. The UK operation has ambitious plans both in terms of growth and further development of its portfolio to encompass other European payment products as an FCA regulated e-money license business.
Our client currently has a small team based in London. The Financial Controller is a key role within the team and this is a great opportunity for someone who can work closely with the both the UK senior management team and other operating divisions.
Essential to the role is the experience and capability to provide sound commercial advice and ensure the required financial control framework and reporting in managing a regulated high-volume transaction business. The breadth of the roles requires both a hands-on approach but also the ability to add value and be influential in business decisions at Board level.
Responsibilities will include leading and building the finance team, managing all aspects of financial control including accounting, treasury, tax and financial reporting encompassing detailed reconciliations of customer funds commensurate with regulatory reporting requirements.
Overseeing the accounting activities for the multi-channel payment technology businesses - acquiring, accepting and card issuing.
Effective regulatory reporting, provision of commercial pricing models and advice to senior management on business propositions and tenders.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with solid reporting experience and a strong background, ideally from the Financial Services industry with experience working within payments, merchant acquiring and online payments. This is essential, and nop candidate will be considered without payments industry experience
The role will require excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to develop relationships with staff in other areas of the business, a pro-active approach with first class attention to detail, and a current working knowledge of FRS102, UK GAAP and IFRS.
You will have worked previously as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance position.
Lastly, a self starter, somebody who understands what it takes to work in a fast-paced, start-up or smaller business and has the ability to get the job done, whatever the challenge.
