Reporting to a Board-level director, and as one of the key providers of management information within the company, you will have the opportunity both to influence strategic decisions but also to work with staff of all levels across all departments.
Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records within the Group (3 legal entities), you will deliver the monthly management accounts and other key financial information to the Board. Additionally you will have the opportunity to input into the redesign of the accounts as we transition to a new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics NAV).
Collaborating across departments, you will be in charge of pulling together budgets and forecasts, and will provide variance analysis as part of the management accounts, highlighting trends and commenting on performance.
You will be the principle point of liaison for the auditors, and will also work closely with the bank.
You will create cash-flow forecasts for the short and medium term, assess currency requirements and purchase currency as required in order to mitigate the company's risk. Additionally you will have responsibility for most elements of working capital, with the aim of maximising cash availability for the Group.
Financial Controller Duties
" Maintain accurate financial records in line with UK GAAP, including the selection of appropriate accruals, provisions, prepayments and deferrals
" Create monthly entity-level and consolidated management accounts for delivery to the Board
" Highlight and provide commentary on key variances
" Pull together budgets and forecasts as required
" Report Aged Debtor / Creditor information to Senior Management
" Compile cash-flow forecasts from debtors/creditors ledgers and order books, as well as an analysis of cash usage
" Manage working capital effectively to maximise cash whilst maintaining our reputation for paying on time
" Liaise with the bank or other agencies to purchase foreign currency.
" Manage the chart of accounts
" Complete year-end processes and routines, ensuring accurate brought forward balances.
" Ensure all transactions have the appropriate ERP Dimensions.
" Authorise invoices where required
" Review bi-monthly payment runs
" Provide information as required to external auditors and the bank
" Uphold profile of finance department within the operating divisions and with customers as a professional and well-disciplined area of the business.

" Accounts assistant, responsible for processing all sales and purchase ledger transactions, bank reconciliations, and for credit control.
Financial Controller Skills & Qualifications
Must have an accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
Ideally degree-level formal education
Some experience required - however quick learners encouraged
