The Financial Controller will be responsible for the provision of financial information, analysis and advice to the Board of Directors and the Senior Management Team, and for the day to day operations of the finance function, including line management for two direct reports.
Our client is seeking a high potential, progressive individual due to a planned retirement in two years time at director level within the organisation. The ideal scenario would be for the Financial Controller to step up to director level once comfortable and capable of fulfilling the role.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Production of monthly management accounts and statutory accounting;
*Preparation of Board finance pack in numerical and dashboard style, and monthly management reporting;
*Attend monthly meetings and presenting results;
*Support to the Directors at quarterly Board Meetings;
*Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements including VAT, Corporation Tax and PAYE/NI;
*Work with the business to develop Budgeting and Forecasting (short term & long term);
*Control and improvement of established accounting processes and implementation of relevant additional procedures;
*Oversee the finance team's responsibilities including payroll, VAT returns, accounts receivable and payable processing and cash flow management;
*Providing accurate cash flow forecasting;
*Provision of project profitability analysis on a monthly basis;
*Business partner with technical staff to ensure strong financial management of projects.
Applicants will need to qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with proven experience of accounting within an SME environment, and the willingness to progress past financial controller level in future. Candidates looking to make the move out of practice into industry will also be considered.
