Financial Controller

Our client, who work within the financial services sector is keen to recruit a Financial Controller to join their dymanic team. The company have grown due to their success and this role is to support the Finance Director where you will lead a new functional area within the Finance department, managing the provision of technical support, advice and information and continuously improving appropriate frameworks, practices and policies.

Job Description:

  • Under the guidance of Finance Director, lead on planning and developing related strategy
  • Contribute to the development of business strategic plans for specific parts of the Company
  • Contribute to the development of department plans, ensuring alignment with overall finance strategy
  • Contribute to the development of finance policies and procedures
  • Make recommendations on impact of new issues and manage change
  • Investigate and implement new approaches and techniques to report and reflect the direction of the Company
  • Develop and implement medium-term plans for functional area including resource requirements, prioritisation and coordination of team to deliver strategy
  • Control management including budgeting, monthly closing, reporting, cost management and managing procurement process
  • Control pricing area which includes manufacturer level pricing and dealer level pricing, contract hire and new product pricing
  • Provide adequate planning and forecasting
  • Direct, monitor and review the technical activities of functional area
  • Understanding policy requirements, assessment of implications and guidance to employees and executive management on their application
  • Contribute to the development of new standards, systems and processes
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of the function, research and implement and recommend new approaches and techniques

Person Specification:

  • Due to the numerate nature of the role a relevant qualification is essential - statistical qualification, ACCII, Accountancy, Tax or equivalent
  • High level of professional knowledge required and broad knowledge of technical field
  • Sound financial services/ broad business knowledge
  • Capable of developing coherent high-level (strategic) plans and complex reports
  • Ability to manage multiple, conflicting interests and deadlines
  • Proven experience of managing finance functions including pricing / accounting and leading through change
  • Ability to coach, mentor and manage other senior professionals
  • Ability to think conceptually, creatively and without precedents
  • Considerable experience of people management, including performance management and application of HR policies
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must display time management skills by delivering within set timeframes

Additional Information:

  • Based in Reigate
  • Salary £62,000 - £65,000 per annum, plus up to 20% quarterly performance based bonus

  • 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday with an hour for lunch
