Job Description

This position is sat within a thriving and diverse SME based near central Liverpool. They are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to have complete oversight for the running of the day to day finances for the group, leading a small but busy department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
  • Developing forecasting models in support of planning & budget activities
  • Support the Board in the preparation of budgets and financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and reports
  • Contributes to the achievement of the Company objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy
  • Monitoring business performance and competitor analysis
  • Draft and review reports, analyses projection of sales and income against actual figures, suggesting methods of improving the planning process
  • In conjunction with the Board, assess the long term financial trends, review prospects for future growth of income and new product areas
  • Management Information and Account Reporting.
  • Review and assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts for group entities
  • Reconciliation of group inter company balances
  • Preparation of monthly management reports for external stakeholders
  • Prepare year end files for external audit
  • Management of group consolidation matters
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns for group entities
  • Prepare tax computations for review by external advisors
  • Manage the fixed asset registers for all group entities

The Successful Applicant

Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified Manager looking for a hands on and challenging role. Previous experience of managing staff and developing individuals, ideally coming from an SME is preferred.

What's on Offer

Base salary of £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
