Financial Controller - Family Office

Looking for a challenging hands-on Financial Controller role? Our client is a private family office which recently appointed a new energetic CEO who seeks to recruit a hands-on Financial Controller with whom they will have shared vision to expand the business.

The company

Our client is a long-established private family office based in central London with an ambitious growth strategy. It has a strategic plan to develop and launch a new control, processing and reporting system to manage and report client expenditure across 4 worldwide jurisdictions.

The role

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the management, control, processing and reporting on clients’ expenditure across 4 worldwide jurisdictions, including the liaison with international staff to fully deliver a controlled and managed cost base. Initially, the challenge will be to review the current framework in place, and immerse into the detail and nuances of the cost base and its drivers, whilst ensuring all critical operational demands are met.

The Financial Controller will, within three months, propose how to improve the, somewhat fragmented, processes and take them to the next level to create an efficient, consolidated and controlled framework in order to fully enable cost control, management and create real tangible value to the clients.

The position reports directly to the CEO and will include the potential for growth into travel to each geographic location.

The CEO has a strategic plan to develop the existing private family office into a broader multi-family office offering and requires like-minded, intelligent, passionate and experienced colleagues on board to deliver the vision.

The Person

The sort of person suited for this role will possess strong financial control and management reporting skills, well developed communication ability and commercial awareness. You may already be a financial controller looking o progress or a senior finance manager or management accountant. Other skills and experience:

- CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent qualification or experience

- proactive and dynamic

- treasury and cash management

- budgeting and modelling

- discretion, tact and ability to create change

- gravitas and persuasiveness

- Discreet, integrity and sound judgment

- strategic, yet 'hands-on’ as required

- project management

- ownership and vision

- Multi-language skills are helpful, but not essential
