FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - Commodity Trading

This specialist Commodity Trading business seeks an experienced Financial Controller to manage all aspects of accounting for the company, this is a hands on role reporting to the Managing Director. You will be responsible for the firm’s statutory, regulatory reporting and financial systems. Your initial brief will be to review systems, processes and controls to make improvements. Other duties will include:

  • Management of day to day financial accounting, reporting and control in accordance with internal and external requirements and deadlines
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated reports to support regulatory filings, statutory obligations
  • Acting as the main point of contact for the firm’s external auditors and provision of all required information for both statutory and audit purposes
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns and checking of Intrastat monthly reports
  • Monitoring cash flow
  • Scheduling of payments
  • FX cover
  • Monthly reconciliations of all accounting systems
  • Credit control
  • Preparing loan documents for bank
  • Checking reviewing and reconciling Invoice finance facility.
  • Identifying and implementing on-going improvements to the firm’s accounting systems and processes
  • Providing financial support and analysis to all parts of the business
  • Leading and contributing on all finance related projects
  • Supervising, managing and motivating a small team
