My client is a top-tier accounting firm based in the heart of London. They are looking to bring on a finance assistant on a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility of moving on to a permanent management accounts position if they are successful. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1 years’ experience and have a basic understanding of accountancy.

The FA has the primary task of managing clients administrative matters to include:

• Coding and posting invoices and expenses claims
• Co-ordinating the collation of information
• Responding to day-to-day queries
• Preparing payment runs
• Maintaining supplier details
• Managing receivables ledgers and other such matters

This requires some technical knowledge, strong attention to detail, an ability to organise a workload without relying on others for regular guidance and direction and a high degree of organisation and inter-personal skills.

The more detailed services completed by the FA include:

• Completion of supplier reconciliations
• Treasury management, liaison with banks
• Service providers and other third parties, assistance to the MA’s with collation and posting of accounting records
• Monitor purchase ledger and sales ledger

Accurate and timely filing of financial information and the resolution of any review points raised as part of our quality control process, and provision of these deliverables in an accurate and timely way.

The role requires strong relationships to be built with clients at all levels and of differing cultures and personalities. Communication within the wider team is also key to successful completion of the FA role.

An outstanding FA should be seeking to develop their interpersonal and technical skills where they consistently demonstrate a willingness to deliver excellent client service and support the Client Managers in managing the client and third party relationships. Should they wish to do so, outstanding FAs who demonstrate a relevant aptitude will be considered for transfer to an MA position.

Each FA will report to several Client Managers in relation to their portfolio of clients and to their Line Manager on all other matters. An FA's development will be the responsibility of their Line Manager, with the development of the FAs as a collective overseen by a Partner.
