Financial Accountant

The role will report to the Director of Finance & Operations.

The main objectives of this role will be to:

* Assist with the smooth running of finance operation
* Assist with the timely, accurate preparation of the monthly accounts and associated reporting
* Assist with the preparation of monthly forecast and annual budget
* Help maintain the order pipeline with the consulting team
* Business partnering and reporting of management information

Principal Responsibilities:

* Maintain the integrity of the financial ledgers and understand fully all accounts and inputs
* Timely, accurate preparation of the monthly accounts and associated reporting
* Complete and/or review accounting journals
* Reconcile account balances and provide supporting documentation as required
* Work with both finance and non-finance colleagues to help in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts
* Responsibility for the reconciliation and agreement of inter company transactions
* Provide project reporting and support to project leaders
* Assist with the management of global working capital management
* Document financial procedures
* Responsible for the consolidation of the global accounts

Other Responsibilities:

* Assist the review of divisional systems and internal controls through the collection and review of monthly Accounting Control Checklists, and assisting with the development of best practice
* Provide input to the trade credit reporting process by consolidating inputs and working with other divisions so that appropriate levels of cover are in place
* Participate in ad hoc projects as required

Person Specification:

* Part qualified ACCA/CIMA or Qualified by Experience an advantage
* Enthusiastic, problem solving attitude, an eye for detail, strong communication skills and recognition of the importance of deadlines are a must
Strong Excel skills required, including the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets (including pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
* Solid accounting knowledge with experience of SAP an advantage
* Confident in dealing with staff at all levels
* Enjoy the challenge of a changing and evolving department
* Someone who wants to actively interact with business leaders to build strong working relationships in order to fully understand the business and provide appropriate value-added support.
* Must be able to interpret financial information for dissemination to non-financial managers
* An appetite for process improvement welcomed
