About the job
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will have a broad financial accounting role which will include stock accounting, reconciliations and reporting, reporting on and forecasting capital expenditure and cash flow, preparation of statutory accounts and liaison with auditors.
You will be involved in wider business projects such as opening new shops and expanding the business, and will be a key point of contact for some of our non-financial colleagues, so building great relationships will be really important.
This role will have line management responsibility for a finance assistant.
We are looking for a technically strong financial accountant who is passionate about delivering a great service to everyone in the business. Our Finance Team is relatively small, but dynamic and flexible. You should enjoy variety and having the opportunity to work on areas outside of your usual remit. You will benefit from the amazing development opportunities that come with an exciting, entrepreneurial company that is truly customer-led. We work hard but we think our office is a fun place to be (we hope you will agree!), so you should be outgoing and enjoy the buzz of a busy environment.
You may be a recently qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant, working towards completing your qualification, or qualified by experience. Experience in a retail environment would be useful, but is not essential. You will need strong excel skills. You will be highly organised, have a great attention to detail, and be excellent at planning and delivering to deadlines. You may have line management experience.
Your learning agility, your ability to think differently and your enthusiasm for this role are very important to us. An understanding of our purpose and how that shapes everything we do, is vital.
