A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a FTC Financial Accountant.

The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely data for inclusion in the month end process, together with looking after statutory returns. Working closely with the Financial Controller and the rest of the Southampton Finance Team.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a FTC Financial Accountant (UKTC).

Core responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of information for inclusion in management accounts for L3 CTS A&AT and APL entities

  • Manage overheads and serve central functions in respect of financial support

  • Oversee VAT returns

  • Oversee Payroll and relevant returns associated

  • SAP power user and system administration

  • Own balance sheet reconciliation process including own reconciliations

  • Significant contribution to Audit process

  • Complete Tax information packs to enable corporation tax calculations

  • Responsible for the development of Assistant Accountant

  • Responsible for cash-flow (net funds) forecasting ensuring all funding requirements are met. Key driver in 17 week forecast process

  • Contribute to all external reporting where possible to include all statutory returns/reports for L3 CTS A&AT to local management and to US parent and external bodies. Includes statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, SAO tax declarations, VAT returns and any other statutory returns required

  • Sarbanes Oxley development and compliance

  • Responsible for various CTS/L3H monthly returns

People:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships across Finance - particularly with FP&A team and finance business partners - to identify new business needs, review performance, and resolve issues

  • Provide support to both local and divisional finance team

    General:

  • Manage operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate.

  • Ensure information systems are operated to the required standard to maintain accurate and secure records.

  • Ensure there are adequate resources, including contingency arrangements, to run the business and meet our customer commitments.

  • Ensure the team understand and adhere to the company and department standards, policies and procedures.

  • Adhere to the Competence and Training framework policy and procedures to ensure each team member attains and maintains the required competency level to perform their role and, in particular, to promote a culture where customers are treated fairly and are properly informed.

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Experience and knowledge required:

  • The candidate will be a qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant with large company reporting experience and comfortable communicating with all levels of management.

  • A "hands on" and "can do" approach will be important together with the ability to quickly evaluate issues and make recommendations / decisions.

  • Strong excel skills are essential.

  • Experience of SAP is essential.

  • The ideal candidate is required to be flexible in order to meet business requirements, in particular around month end, quarter end and year end.
