Following the recent acquisition by the Link Group of the Asset Services Division of Capita plc, Link Asset Services is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to set up the Accounts Payable Shared Services Centre for the UK and Ireland. The role will report to the LAS Financial Controller and you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely capture and payment of all UK and international invoices. There will be further opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the Shared Service operating model, constructing business case scenarios to support increased scope of services and/or entities, including the development of robust service level agreements (SLAs) with internal customers and with any third party service providers.

Job Description

Purpose of Role

To lead support of LAS Finance systems to ensure they are maintained in a timely, proactive manner. This will involve (a) designing and coordinating system changes (b) resolving service faults (c) assisting business users in understanding the systems capabilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Functional Support of LAS Finance systems (this is not a technical role)

  • Participate in Finance systems related projects.

  • Mentoring, training and development of junior finance team members

  • In conjunction with the IT admin team, perform system admin & support tasks in line with the SLAs

  • In conjunction with the IT admin team, maximise system performance and minimize downtime in line with SLAs

  • In conjunction with the IT admin team, proactively monitor data integrity and quality and resolve issues as they arise.

  • Ensure effective system controls are in place and escalate issues that pose risk.

  • In conjunction with the IT admin team ensure all critical patches are fully tested before being applied to systems.

  • Continue to develop and share knowledge of businesses processes and controls, being accountable to the DFD and DFC for developing reports to support decision making and reporting for the division.

  • Liaise with external support vendors.


Essential Skills, Capabilities and Experience

  • Experience in performing functional orientated support in Finance systems including AR, AP, GL

  • A practical knowledge of accounting concepts and reporting issues

  • Experience in documenting business requirements and coordinating testing and implementation of functional changes

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Degree qualification preferred (eg. Accounting, IT information systems)

Additional Information

While this role is based in Beckenham UK (or potentially Leeds UK), some occasional travel to Link Group Finance Team Sydney Australia may also be required.
