My client is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager for their East Devon based business. Reporting directly to the Finance Director you will be part of the SLT and be responsible for 4 direct reports. The Finance Manager is responsible for the day to day running of the finance department, internal and external reporting and supporting the wider management team. You will also participate in company strategy and the delivery of the strategic and operational goals. The successful candidate will ideally be a fully qualified accountant, with an in-depth knowledge of both financial and management accounts and have a good understanding of Finance IT, including Advanced Excel skills.

More specific duties include:

  • Coach, mentor and support the Finance Team
  • Drive improvements in the efficiency and productivity of the finance team
  • Oversee sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and payroll functions
  • Monitor and drive improvements in financial controls
  • Review and manage monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts (including forecasts) in line with Group deadlines
  • Produce internal monthly managers' report for the board
  • Weekly Group Cash flow and Sales & EBIT forecasts
  • First point of contact for year-end audit, half year reviews and internal audits including preparation of audit files
  • Liaise with Group on preparation of statutory accounts
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and advise on future changes
