Finance Manager

My client based in Richmond are looking to appoint a full time permanent Finance Manager. This role would be working closely with the Assistant Accountant and working within a small team. Set in the centre of Richmond this is an exciting opportunity for a successful Finance Manager hoping to progress within their career. 

Purpose of the job role: 
To monitor and be accountable for all day to day financial operations within Union Street, review financial data to produce monthly and annual reports as required.

Key duties include: 
Sales Ledger

• Raising and issuing sales invoices in aBILLIty and posting to Sage 50
• Oversee the processing of bank receipts to the finance system
• Answer customer queries, liaise with other departments
• Oversee credit control

Purchase Ledger

• Oversee posting of supplier invoices to Sage 50
• Oversee the processing of approved supplier payments via online banking
• Oversee posting bank payments to Sage 50

Payroll

• Preparation and processing of monthly payroll for approx. 90 employees
• Making bank payments for payroll in time to be received for the last working day of each month
• Posting the payroll journal to Sage 50
• Processing and payment of staff expenses
• Preparing HMRC PAYE & NI payments to meet the payment deadlines
• Management of pension scheme
• Management of HMRC PSA and related activities
• Processing year end payroll, issuing P60 and P11D to staff

Month End Duties

• Preparation and presentation of accurate and timely management information including narrative
• Bank reconciliations
• Prepayments and accruals
• Nominal code reconciliations
• Control account reconciliations

Quarterly duties

• Preparation and submission of quarterly vat return
• Ensure HMRC are paid according to payment deadlines

Year End duties

• Calculation of Work in Progress and posting to Sage 50
• Liaising with Auditors, providing information to support the audit including Sage 50 and Sage Payroll backups, copies of documents as required and answering queries
• Processing year end adjustments provided by the auditors to Sage 50
• Running year end process in Sage 50

Other duties: 
• Creating new Nominal Codes as required
• Periodic Sage 50 Accounting and Sage Payroll software updates
• Any other duties that may be required from time to time and that are commensurate with the level of the job.

Desired Skills: 
• Working experience of Sage Accounts 50
• Working experience of Sage Payroll
• Experience of Excel and formulae
• Ability to convey information accurately, clearly and simply in a manner easily understood
• Ability to pay attention to detail and be accurate
• Ability to organise, schedule and adapt work tasks to meet conflicting deadlines and respond to changing situations
• Ability to work on own initiative and to organize and prioritise own work.
• Professional approach
• Work within the prescribed process and procedures for ISO and GDPR compliance
• Provide guidance and support to assistant accountant
