Finance Manager

Client Details

Our client is a small business based in Bracknell who is looking a for a finance manager to run the company's finance function


The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Take responsibility for ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively.

To provide high quality financial and non-financial reporting including preparation of any reports required by the directors.

Responsible for maintaining statutory records for the business.

Stock control including reconciling stock quantities on manual spreadsheets to warehouse reports and exchequer software on a monthly basis. Liaise with the warehouses on any queries. Preparing monthly stock reports for the directors.

Credit control including preparation of debtors list for directors, chasing debts by telephone and e mail. Updating directors daily on payments received, updating payment history report.

Report and manage cash flow for the company in an efficient manner.

Dealing with currency payments, receipts and variances.

Maintaining bank accounts and carrying out monthly bank reconciliations.

Ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions .Maintaining sales ledger,

Purchase ledger, Payroll (prepared by accountants) Cash posting and all general ledger entries.

Handling VAT to completion and submission of UK and French VAT Returns. Maintaining up to date knowledge of VAT issues that affect the company.

Maintaining the fixed asset register.

Completion of P11D's and dealing with other payroll and pension matters.

Liaise with external accountants at the year end.

Entering information on job cards including stock purchase invoices, payments and ensuring shipping files are updated with a copy of invoices.

Payments to suppliers regularly during the month including prepayments.

Purchasing foreign currency when required.

Posting of rents received from external properties.

Checking, Posting and payment of expenses.

Petty Cash.


The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working in a SME
  • Excellent communicator and analytical ability
  • Proven ability of working under pressure
  • Strong IT skills
  • Minimum of five years- experience in similar position
