The Opportunity:
A fantastic opportunity to work in a local financial services and software business with a varied internal accounting role involving the management of a member of staff, liaison with senior management members and responsibility for the accounts, VAT returns and payroll of 5 small businesses. The services offered by the include direct to consumer financial advice, business to business financial advice, software development and software subscriptions.

The Role:
This is a key support role in our group of businesses in the financial services and software sectors. The role involves managing the accounts of 5 small businesses using the Sage software platform as well as managing the payroll for the employees of the business. The role requires the submission of VAT returns, including one for a partially exempt business and also payroll on a monthly basis.

As well as the above accountancy activities, one of the core activities of the business is the management of daily income and outbound payments taken through our busy client account whilst also managing the key relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure all payment issues are resolved.

A summary of the main roles, which may vary, includes the following:

  1. Full internal sage accounting across multiple businesses
  2. VAT Returns
  3. Payroll
  4. MI Reporting
  5. Supplier and Customer Database Management
  6. Daily payment runs
  7. Client account management
  8. Customer relationship management & supplier service management
  9. Liaison with the relevant accountants regarding the year end
  10. Implementing financial checks and controls throughout the business

Benefits and Further Information:
Salary varies from £18,000 to £22,000 dependent on experience. 20 Days holiday p.a. Typical hours are: Mon - Friday, 9am until 5:30pm. You will be reporting to the Managing Director.
