Finance Manager - Up to £35k - Sheffield

Your new company
A leading provider in its field and based in Sheffield, this company are looking for a Part Qualified/Qualified by Experience Accountant or who wants to develop their career to add to their business.

Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director of the business, this role is responsible for preparing financial reports and maintaining records of assets, liabilities, revenue and expenditure, payments and other financial activities. Furthermore the role will conduct regular checks of the internal controls, leads the preparation of the monthly accounts closure of the operation, and ensures that disbursements are in accordance with the budget. Further duties include:

  • Responsible for the company's overall finance and account works.
  • Manage the development of the company's financial and management accounting procedure, devising overall strategy and tactic.
  • Develop, implement and monitor control system, policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring financial and accounting services and records are robust and secure.
  • Responsible for the company's funds management e.g. maximise return on investment while minimising risk.
  • Responsible for the provision of all company's financial planning and strategic analysis in areas such as; forecasting, budgeting for both short and long term.
  • Ensure timely and effective follow up to audit observations and recommendations;
  • Engage in cost reduction analysis, reviewing operation performance.
  • Ensuring financial and accounting services and records are robust and secure.
  • Responsible for reconciling daily, monthly and yearly transactions.
  • Prepare and coordinate financial audit; Ensure timely and effective follow up to audit observations and recommendations;
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of organisational products and process
  • Resolving financial disputes.
  • Being a key point of contact for other departments on financial and accounting matters.
  • Update the Managing Director on financial status of the organisation;
  • Supporting the Managing Director with projects and tasks when required.


What you'll need to succeed
You will need extensive knowledge of business working experience within in a major company coupled with strong management in accounting with a financial background. You need to have the ability to analyse and integrate potentially conflicting numerical, verbal and other data from a number of sources needing strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively. You should be ambitious and hard-working, looking to support the wider business with a track record of success.

What you'll get in return
In return for a working week of 37.5 hours, you will receive a salary in the range of between £30,000-£35,000 dependent on experience.
