Our client has a permanent full-time vacancy for a Finance Manager, reporting to the Group Finance Director. You will need to be a Qualified Accountant ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent with at least five years post qualification experience of working as a Finance Manager in a similar sized organisation
Description of role and key tasks
General Daily Tasks:
Provide day to day first line of support for queries from Accounts Assistants
Regularly review and manage the ageing of Purchase Ledger balances to ensure that all suppliers are paid to the agreed payment terms
Review all Stock and Overhead Purchase accruals as part of the month-end accounting
Review and authorise all Letters of Credit
Monitor the Letter of Credit balance on a daily basis; and, forecast near-term requirements, to ensure the company does not exceed its approved limit
Approve nominal and department codes used for all business expenditure posting
Oversee administration for all company credit cards, mobile phones, fuel cards and insurance
Control the Capital Expenditure process authorisation; and, Monitor spend against budget
Any other duties and ad hoc analysis as and when required by the Finance Director.
Weekly Specific Tasks:
Review the weekly currency payments and receipts forecast, before submission to Group
Review accounts payable inbox to ensure that ALL emails older than one week old have been acted upon within the purchase ledger department
Month End Specific Tasks:
Reconcile both sales ledger & purchase ledger control accounts including explanations for all variances
Collate and validate all payroll adjustments, for onward processing by Group
Reconcile Stock and Goods in Suspense accounts with explanations for all variances
Review and sign off the supplier statement reconciliation file, for completeness
Coordinate the posting of all fixed asset invoices together with approved spend totals on to the ledger ready for posting to the fixed asset register for all divisions
Prepare and post all month-end Journals (including: accruals; prepayments; payroll; Agents’ Commissions; Customer Rebates; Revaluation of FX Gains & Losses; and, the reconciliation of all Inter-Company balances.
Update a 'Balance Sheet Reconciliations’ file for review and sign off by the Group Finance Director
Review of debit balances on aged creditors and provide a report with comments
Review and process payment for all supplier invoices
Prepare and publish the Monthly Management Accounts
Quarter End Specific Tasks:
Complete the quarterly VAT return and related supporting working schedules, including C79 reconciliations
Year End Specific Tasks:
Prepare the auditors list of 'Prepared By Client’ workings and supporting schedules for the Year-End audit
Prepare for audit, the Year-End Accounts
Act as first line of support for external audit queries
Skills relating to role
Advanced level of Microsoft Excel (particularly the use of 'Pivots’ and 'LookUp’ tables)
Business Partnering skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
High attention to detail in a busy environment.
Previous experience of leading and developing a Finance Team, especially through the introduction of new ways of working; new roles and responsibilities; and, their development of new skills and competencies

Team worker who is able to work just as effectively as an individual.
