FINANCE MANAGER
Salary £43 to £48k DOE
Location: Milton Keynes

THE COMPANY
My client is a highly respected wholesaler within the FMCG sector.

THE ROLE
The successful candidate with ultimately report directly to the Finance Director following a handover period.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Oversee daily operations within the finance department
Responsible for team’s appraisals and objective setting
Preparation of monthly management accounts and all associated reconciliations
Liaison with external auditors for annual audit (2 weeks) as well as preparation beforehand.
Assisting with generation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
Preparation of regular reports required in various departments around the business
Overseeing internal financial controls, in particular for bank, debtors, creditors and fixed assets.
Ensuring team members are adequately trained and motivated with all procedures documented
Develop sound understanding of finance and reporting systems including liaison with software providers for upgrades and software development. Accounts software currently Access Dimensions.
Working with internal IT department to help develop improvements to internally written software packages and programmes
Liaising, together with Finance Director, with external suppliers and agencies as and when required.
Develop good relations with our members (shareholders) who we correspond with on a regular basis.
Help with any dispute resolution with 3rd parties on purchase or sales issues.
Attend industry events when appropriate to strengthen member and supplier relations
Help in systems training, both internally and within the wider group
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and filing with HMRC.
Working with Finance Director on company strategic planning.

YOUR PROFILE
Qualified ACCA or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years experience working within a finance department, preferably in more than one role.
Strong IT skills, in particular needs advanced level spreadsheet skills
Friendly, approachable individual who can act as a mentor to develop the skills of staff within the department but will maintain suitable authority
Flexible and capable of multitasking
Capable of providing a professional image to external stakeholders
Experienced in the meeting of monthly reporting deadlines and prioritising workload.
Experienced in dealing with VAT and external auditors.
