My client a growing manufacturing and engineering organisation in the Newcastle area, is currently recruiting for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) to join their Finance team.
You will play a leading role in preparing forecasts and budgets, taking full responsibility for all financial aspects of projects within the manufacturing dvision of the business, providing proactive support to project managers and maintaining the integrity of contract data within the business system.
Duties will include:
Producing the Divisional Management accounts in an efficient and timely fashion in accordance with group reporting formats and timetable, and manage the period closing process
Managing and co-ordinating the activities of the Finance Team
Setting departmental and individual targets within the team. Reviewing and preparing PMDs of the team members
Attending Management Team meetings
Preparing job cost information comparing estimate, "as sold", and actual cost analysing variances and recommending corrective action where appropriate
Preparing and maintaining standard machine hour rates, and analysing labour and overhead variances
Ensuring contract data is managed appropriately within the business system to ensure data integrity is maintained and financial results are prepared in line with group policies
Ensuring cyclical and year-end stock counts are carried out effectively and that inventory is valued appropriately on the balance sheet
Assisting the COO in maintaining a Capacity model to help assist key business decisions through use of the Rechargeable Hours Forecast
Ensuring commercial and financial contract risks are reviewed appropriately, and liaise as required with external advisers on commercial terms and conditions to protect the Company’s position
Undertaking contract reviews with project managers to ensure financial status of jobs is understood and appropriate action taken to improve profit margins and cash flow
Preparing debtors reporting and driving improved cash efficiency within manufacturing division
Preparation of statutory data for foreign entities
Ensuring reported COQ figures are correct, updated and forecast accordingly following project reviews
Identify foreign exchange and bonding requirements for Group Finance to make necessary arrangements with the banks
You must be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) in order to be considered for this position.
