Finance Manager

A high-growth technology business in Manchester City Centre are looking for a Finance Manager to look after their finance function. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the timely and effective management of four direct reports. Your responsibilities will also revolve around issuing management accounts.

As a Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Issuing management accounts, whilst ensuring that you are adhering to strict deadlines
  • Managing the finance team (including sales ledger, purchase ledger, cashbook, payroll, and Mas) both directly and indirectly
  • Rolling forecasting for each quarter - based on actual performance
  • Accurately reporting of KPIs
  • GP, EBITDA and WIP reporting on a weekly basis
  • Assisting with Year End Audit and Statutory Accounts - including liaising with external auditors
  • Timely reconciliation of all GP and control accounts
  • Maintaining and improving the GP reporting mechanisms
  • Reviewing and approving payroll and supplier payment runs
  • VAT returns and corporation tax QIP calculations
  • R&D investigation and reporting, ready for submission to HMRC
  • Upgrading and improving systems, procedures and controls as appropriate
  • Providing ad-hoc reporting when required
  • Building strong relationships with internal customers to ensure excellent customer service

As a Finance Manager, you will have/be:

  • Part-qualified (ACCA / CIMA / equivalent)
  • Experience of working with SMEs
  • Strong experience in the production of management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Experience of using a well-known ERP system (ideally Sage 200)
  • Experience of working within a line manager position
  • Highly competent with MS Packages (especially Excel)
  • Demonstrated success in delivering financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • A high attention to detail and good standard of numeracy
  • Proven results of having delivered results within tight time scales
  • Highly motivated and ambitious
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with individuals at all levels
