Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 FTE (pro-rata for 4 days)
We are working in partnership with the Wheatsheaf Trust, a charity aimed at helping young people struggling to enter the labour market, adults returning to employment, lone parents and families, minority ethnic and faith groups, people with disabilities, refugees and ex-offenders. Their services and programmes are tailor-made for each individual and can lead to work experience placements and fulfilling the needs of the particular individual.
The charity is seeking a new Finance Manager to take overall control of the accounting, legal and compliance functions. The key responsibilities will include:
- Financial planning and budgeting support to the Chief Executive and Board
- Development and maintenance of financial controls and audit systems
- Preparation of Management and Final Accounts
- Risk Management & Business Continuity Planning
- Ensure that the requirements of statutory funders and regulators are met
- Act as Company Secretary for the Trust
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant, preferably with ACA, ACCA or ACMA with experience of production of statutory accounts, budgets, management accounts and specifically have knowledge of charity accounting requirements. The accounting package used is QuickBooks and experience with this software, or similar, is essential. You will be organised, be able to meet demanding deadlines and possess excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. A commitment to quality and social inclusion is essential to fit in with the culture of the charity and experience of public sector contracting would be advantageous.
