Finance Manager

International business based on the outskirts of Bath seeks to appoint a newly or recently qualified Finance Manager to lead its accounting and reporting agenda. It is extremely complex, and the organisation has some tight financial controls in place to ensure the accuracy and transparency of its results. Its financial teams take the lead in consolidating and reporting their performance at a market, sector and ultimately global level. Reporting to the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include supporting, coordination of, and leading the monthly financial closing processes i.e. systems, controls, liaison and agreement of accruals and provisions, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting of actual results. You will be accountable for outputting the accurate consolidated financial statements, its submission to Group that it is required from business stakeholders. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Direct, lead and manage the activities of supporting team members, to deliver Consolidation & Reporting related analysis and services
  • Review and provide necessary guidance for the entities
  • Responsible to clearly present financial results to senior management, identifying significant trends and root cause of issues
  • Provide technical accounting knowledge and insights to perform diligent analysis and support stakeholders for further discussion
  • Actively lead projects and activities which improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with Business Units to provide effective End-to-End accounting processes & solutions
  • Provide accounting guidance to Heads of Function regarding new or complex issues

About You

ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified with 2-4 years PQE, our ideal candidate will be naturally collaborative and curious. You'll know how to get things done, through formal and informal channels and you will also have examples of how you demonstrate accountability and delivery of consistent results. With an ability to formulate your own opinions on emerging trends and commercial issues, and communicate these in compelling way in order to build support, taking tough stances where necessary, you will equally be comfortable to authoritatively and constructively challenge and push back cross-functionally.
