As a Finance Manager, you will be working within the Combat Systems team which designs, builds, integrates and supports all of the submarine combat systems in the UK fleet - essentially, the eyes and ears of each platform.
We provide through-life support for combat systems, sensors and radars, and deliver complex programmes and technologies by applying expert programme management and world-class engineering.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to be an part of complex engineering programmes that deliver highly advanced defence capabilities to the UK MoD
Your main responsibilities as a Finance Manager will involve:
Financial Performance Management support to the Combat Systems (CS) Astute and Dreadnought project teams ensuring sufficient understanding of financial issues to facilitate achievement of financial targets
Responsibility for the production and delivery of CS Dreadnought Spend management and Astute in year cash forecast
Providing financial input and challenge into production of CS Astute and Dreadnought Programme EACs (Estimate At Completion)
Key liaison between Prime Astute and Dreadnought finance teams and the Combat Systems project management organisation to assist with effective programme delivery (dealing with risk management, programme challenges and ad-hoc queries)
Supporting Astute and Dreadnought bid process
Financial support to the Programme's overall Enterprise affordability initiatives
Providing finance input and challenge to the Life Cycle Management and Programme Review process
Ensuring adherence to business financial controls and governance process
Your skills and qualifications:
Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) or relevant equivalent
Knowledge of Financial IT Systems including SAP and MS Excel
Leadership and Management experience
Project Finance experience
Knowledge of MOD policies and procedures
Experience of the Defence industry

Maritime - Submarines
Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.
