An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager - Water Supply based in Huntingdon.
This is a challenging but rewarding role to develop and help deliver efficiency initiatives to enable the business to achieve it's regulatory and business targets. As a core member of the Business Unit Management team, you will work closely with the Business Unit Director setting the performance agenda. You'll also take an active role in promoting the culture of continuous improvement and ownership of health can safety by all.
As the Finance Manager, your duties will include:
oMonitoring, evaluating and reporting financial and non-financial performance to the IMR Head of Commercial & Finance, Director of the IMR Alliance, and the Business Unit Director
o Advising the Management Team of key risks and issues to the achievement of business unit targets
o Liaising with owners of non-financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure adequate reporting and visibility to the management team
o Developing performance reporting within the business unit
o Driving the Business agenda to one of the performance focuses
o Developing a culture of cost control within the regulated business
o Development of unit & comparative costing methodologies to assist benchmarking, budgeting and performance indicators
o Reviewing business unit plans with the Head of Business Performance, the Business Unit Director
o Developing & driving strategic initiatives for the Finance function
o Ensuring accounting practices are consistent with regulatory reporting requirements
o Ensuring that Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are adhered to when reporting and processing transactions
o Developing and agreeing Finance policies & procedure
o Develop, coach and mentor staff
As a qualified accountant, you will have experience in a senior financial management role, where you have gained experience managing and reporting non-financial KPIs. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders in a constructive manner.
Ideally you will have strong leadership and stakeholder management skills as well as being able to think and operate strategically. You will be commercially minded, have excellent business acumen and be able to work collaboratively with the commercial teams and partners in the business.
