Finance Manager - Regulatory & Statutory Reporting

An opportunity has arisen to join TUI UK&I as a Finance Manager – Regulatory & Statutory Reporting, a key role within the organisation which has responsibility for some of the most pivotal reporting in the business. You will act as key interface between your team and its internal and external customers (Group Finance, Group Tax, internal & external audit, regulatory and statutory authorities) to ensure that all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements are met. This role has a high level of visibility within the organisation and regularly interfaces with the CFO and divisional FDs.
What you will be doingAs a Finance Manager - Statutory and Regulatory Reporting your responsibilities include:Manage Statutory Accounts Process. You are responsible for preparing statutory accounts for c20 companies under FRS101, coordinating the audit thereof and subsequent signing. Within this remit you will manage all transactions relating to TUI UK&I companies concerning share capital, investments, dividends, taxation, liaising with relevant Group departments and proactively engage with them to initiate changes to the companies within these areas where a strategic or other benefit is identified.Manage Regulatory Reporting Process. As a tour operator, and an airline, TUI UK&I is highly regulated, and your new role is pivotal to our ongoing relationship with the regulators. With support from your team you ensure that all financial & reporting obligations are met, and accurately forecasted internally. You are a key point of contact for CAA, CAR and ABTA, and are the lead on all new regulated requirements (e.g. payment practices reporting).Manage Pension Accounting for UK&I. TUI UK&I have defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes, and you will perform the day-to-day accounting requirements. You will liaise closely with group colleagues, pension administrators, and our external pension experts to ensure that our pension transactions are accurately represented in our financial results. Team Leadership. You will manage 1 direct report within the team, measuring their performance against clear objectives. There is an expectation that you will be able to support the team in their detailed work, while being able to summarise and articulate the results at a higher level.Other Ad Hoc Activities as required
What we are looking forQualified accountant with proven PQEStrong technical accounting and analytical skillsExperience of statutory accounts production and auditStrong knowledge of IFRS / IAS and UK GAAPWorking knowledge of accounting software. Experience in SAP advantageousHistory of internal control environment review and improvementDefined benefit pension scheme accounting experience desirableStrong systems & process skillsStrong problem solving skillsCompetent working with Microsoft products, particularly Excel
