The Role:-

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join one of the UK’s largest hospitality providers, Whitbread PLC, in a role providing exceptional financial support and control over business-as-usual labour costs across c.800 hotel sites.  As a key part of a fast paced, friendly and dedicated brand-led finance team, you will be in a position to oversee c. £300m of labour scheduling with a £10m savings target for Premier Inn hotels

What will you be doing:-

  • Ensuring financial control over labour scheduling and site level labour budgets for c. 800 sites
  • Building excellent working relationships with numerous Operations Directors and Central Operations Planning Manager
  • Hands-on weekly tracking of planned labour hours - £ vs target; with relevant insight or challenge provided to our Operations Directors
  • Production and delivery of Region and Site level weekly labour cost reporting – providing insight and challenge on underlying drivers on cost
  • Ensuring accurate and robust financial planning and reporting on key elements as required

Why we would love you to apply:-

A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACMA or ACCA), your natural numeracy and acute business acumen will be underpinned by a strong and relevant degree qualification (or similar) at a 2:1 or above

Your existing experience will ensure that you have developed excellent financial planning and management techniques, which you can employ in an agile manner to ensure the best results

Using your first-rate commercial awareness, you’ll be confident to articulately challenge our operational business drivers where relevant - -and provide expert insight

Your best-in-class analytical ability will benefit from being balanced with an equally personable and people-centric approach to engage your stakeholders and nurture excellent working relationships

A technical and hands-on way of working will ensure you are a success in this role when combined with advanced excel skills and experience of financial systems
