The Airline Finance Accounting and Control team are part of TUI Business Services which provide Accounting and Control services to the entire TUI UK & I finance teams. The Airline Finance Accounting team act as business partners to the Airline Commercial Finance teams, which are responsible for circa 62 aircraft, 750 pilots and 2,500 cabin crew and have a cost base in excess of £1bn.You will be a Finance manager within in the Accounting and Control finance directorate, responsible for delivery of the financial processes to support accurate accounting for the new central warehouse and ensure that robust controls around this are in place and monitored. You will be working closely with the Operations Commercial Finance team, Inflight Supply Chain, AP and the wider control team providing a central point to pull together accounting and control services for the project. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the Vector selling system interfaces correctly with the central warehouse to record stock balances.
What you will be doingAs the Finance Manager for Financial Control around the Central Warehouse Project you will be responsible for promoting compliance with the Airline financial accounting processes, ensuring a robust balance sheet. You must have a detailed understanding and a robust application of underlying accounting policies, processes and records in order to attain optimal financial performance for the business and preserving the integrity of the financial ledgers for Thomson Airways Ltd. This is a project role and requires a large amount of tenacity, ability to make decisions quickly, consult and inform a wide variety of stakeholders, work in a constantly evolving environment and ensure work arounds are in place to provide adequate control until the final solution is in place.You will be required to assist the Financial Controller with the management of the Airline relationship with the external auditors through facilitating the audit of Airline balance sheets by providing relevant schedules and supporting information, in addition you will be required to produce accounting and positioning papers to explain and provide back-up to accounting policies and their resultant impact on the Airline accounts where required.
